Purpose

The thing practising lawyers hear most often from people after a matter finishes is some version of "I had no idea how serious this was". That gap is what this course was built to close, and if you have come through the process, it is closed for you. What remains is what you do with that.

29.2Questions worth an honest answer

Reflection

About the offence: what led to it, whether those circumstances still exist, and what you would do at the same moment now. About the process: what was hardest, what you wish you had known on the day you were charged, and what helped. About what comes next: whether anything needs to change so that you are not reading this again in two years.

These are not rhetorical. Write the answers down. The reason is practical: if you are ever before a court again, the Judge will ask what you learned last time, and a person who can answer specifically is in a different position from one who cannot.

29.3If something underneath is unresolved

If the charge grew out of substance use, mental health, financial stress or a relationship, and those things are still where they were, the court process has not fixed them and was never going to. Get support, not because an order requires it, but because you have already paid for the lesson once.
